All families applied and completed an internal screening process with the Columbia Residential Resident Services Department to determine eligibility. Some families have provided bios so that donors are aware of the specific challenges that the family is facing and why they would like to be adopted this holiday season.
No, you do not have to buy all of the gifts on a family’s wish list. We do allow for a “partial sponsor” designation on our donor contact form. We ask that each donor only sponsor the number of items that they are comfortable with, and therefore we have no minimum purchase amounts.
In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, donors will not receive the addresses of the registered families and therefore will not be able to drop off gifts in person. Rather we are requesting that donors use the family’s amazon wish list link to purchase items and have those items shipped to the resident’s home.
No, the adopted family will not receive your contact information.
Amazon does allow you to choose whether or not you want your gifts to be wrapped as well as send along a gift message to the family. We do not require gifts arrive wrapped therefore it is up to each individual donor to decide on whether or not to use Amazon’s gift-wrapping feature.
In order to receive an acknowledgement from Columbia Residential staff, donors will need to complete the Form located here: FORM Please note the form does allow you to select the right to be an anonymous donor. Information from this form is only for Columbia Residential Staff and will not be shared with the families, therefore we are requiring all donors to complete this form. Any thank you materials sent to us from the families will be forwarded from Columbia Residential to the donor.
All gifts must be purchased by December 7, 2020.
